THE FIRM

JNA was founded by Martin Johnson in 1999 after working in the financial advisory industry for ten years. Over the last twenty years, JNA has advised on hundreds of transactions and projects. Mr. Martin Johnson and Mr. John Peterson have both passed the Series 50 and 54 Municipal Advisor Exams. JNA is a registered municipal advisor with the SEC and MSRB. Our office is located at 410 Nevada Way Boulder City, Nevada.

OUR LOGO

When Martin Johnson founded JNA in 1999, he was looking for a logo. Decades before, his grandfather, who had since passed away, owned a real estate company in Las Vegas which used a cactus in its logo. Marty had the last piece of company letterhead for Bunker Realty and with his grandmother’s permission decided to use that logo for his business.

Mr. Johnson established JNA Consulting Group, LLC in 1999 after working ten years with another financial advisory firm. He has developed strong client relationships and is committed to providing a high level of personal service and quantitative support to his clients. His relationships with many accounts go back more than 30 years.

Mr. Johnson is experienced in all aspects of financial advisory work. His major strengths are in computer modeling, quantitative analysis, and evaluation of new financing ideas. He has developed models for numerous clients. He is well regarded for his quantitative skills and has significant experience evaluating new financing ideas.

Mr. Johnson is a member of the State of Nevada Committee on Local Government Finance. He has testified and worked with various legislative committees on school district finance, property tax abatements and lease purchase financing. He has been a presenter on government finance at a

number of conferences.

Mr. Johnson received a Bachelors Degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance from Brigham Young University. He has also successfully completed the requirements for Certified Independent Public Finance Advisor.

Mr. Johnson passed the Series 50 Municipal Advisor Representative Qualification Examination and the Series 54 Municipal Advisor Principal Examination. Mr. Johnson is registered with the SEC.

John Peterson

Mr. Peterson joined JNA Consulting Group, LLC in 2007. He has prepared financial models and analyses for, among others, the State of Nevada; City of Mesquite, Nevada; City of Las Vegas, Nevada; Carson City, Nevada; and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Mr. Peterson's models depict the impacts from changes to flow of funds assumptions as well as provide optimal solutions involving both tax-exempt and taxable debt. He specializes in pooled borrowings that combine multiple projects and repayment sources. He is responsible for modeling a single refunding bond that refinanced 11 separate prior obligations issued to finance 13 different projects. He has also modeled escrow security redemptions and reinvestment for yield limit compliance.

Mr. Peterson received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration - Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Mr. Peterson passed the Series 50 Municipal Advisor Representative Qualification Examination and the Series 54 Municipal Advisor Principal Examination. Mr. Peterson is registered with the SEC.

Johnna Sims

Ms. Sims joined JNA Consulting Group, LLC in 2020. She oversees day-to-day office administrative functions, including accounting and document

preparation. She has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of office operations and management.

Ms. Sims has worked with a variety of systems to develop and produce office forms, correspondence, customized reports, company handbooks, newsletters, and promotional pieces. She has created and implemented systems for gathering, organizing, analyzing, and distributing information.

Prior to her involvement in municipal finance, Ms. Sims was a Certified Personal Finance Educator who created and delivered educational presentations on personal finance to groups of all ages and backgrounds. She also facilitated presenter training conferences for a nationwide network of volunteer speakers.

Ms. Sims earned an Associate Degree in Teaching E-6 from Tarrant County College. Ms. Sims is not a municipal advisor.
